Paxton took a loss his last time out, permitting seven runs (four earned) over 3 1/3 innings to the Rockies. He pitched eight innings of two-hit ball vs. Boston on April 16, striking out 12 against one walk.

After not giving up a homer in his final five starts with the Orioles, Cashner has been taken deep four times in his first two starts for the Red Sox. The righty will try to fix that against the Yankees, a team against which he is 2-5 with a 3.96 ERA in 10 career starts.

Sabathia is coming off a loss to the Twins in which he permitted seven runs (six earned) over four innings. He notched a quality start vs. Boston on June 2, completing six innings of three-run ball while striking out eight in an 8-5 Yankees loss.

Over the last couple of months, Rodriguez has emerged into Boston's most consistent pitcher. In his last 11 starts, E-Rod is 8-1 with a 3.03 ERA. At home this season, he is 5-1 with a 3.83 ERA.

German made three strong starts after coming off the injured list, then was hit hard his last time out by the Twins, who tallied eight runs in 3 2/3 innings. He faced Boston on June 1, allowing three runs in 3 2/3 innings, striking out eight.

The ace finally appears to be back on track. After a three-start slump, he has won his last two starts, allowing two runs while registering 22 strikeouts over 12 innings. Sale is 0-2 with a 6.55 ERA against the Yankees this season.
