Nelson hospitalized with irregular heartbeat

DENVER -- Rockies infielder Chris Nelson was admitted to a local hospital Monday with an irregular heartbeat, the club confirmed before its game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Nelson, 26, has hit .256 with five home runs and 23 RBIs in 58 games while playing second and third base.

Nelson is expected to remain under observation at Sky Ridge Hospital overnight.
