Left-handed Pitcher Josh Outman recalled from Double-A Tulsa

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has recalled left-handed pitcher Josh Outman from Double-A Tulsa. Outman (#88) will be available for tonight’s game at Coors Field against San Francisco (6:40 pm MDT).

Outman, 27, is 0-3 with a 9.00 ERA (31.0 ip, 31 er), 32 strikeouts and 16 walks in 15 appearances, seven starts, for the Rockies this season. The left-hander has spent the remainder of the season with Double-A Tulsa where he went 2-5 with a 3.63 ERA (69.1 ip, 28 er), 30 walks and 71 strikeouts in 14 appearances, 11 starts, for the Drillers. Outman began the season on the 15-day disabled list with an oblique strain and was reinstated May 15th after making three rehab appearances at High-A Modesto and Triple-A Colorado Springs. Outman has a career Major League record of 8-11 with a 4.64 ERA (182.1 ip, 94 er), 72 walks and 139 strikeouts in 48 appearances, 32 starts, in parts of four seasons with Oakland (2008-2011) and Colorado (2012). Outman was acquired by Colorado from Oakland along with right-hander Guillermo Moscoso in exchange for outfielder Seth Smith on January 16, 2012.

The Rockies have 40 players on the 40-man roster.
