CarGo OK after turning ankle on 2-homer night

August 4th, 2016

DENVER -- Rockies right fielder exited the 12-2 win against the Dodgers on Wednesday with a left ankle sprain.
X-rays on the ankle were negative, and Gonzalez walked around the clubhouse after the game with his ankle taped up without a limp.
"Nothing bad, nothing serious," Gonzalez said. "I won't be out. I hope that tomorrow I'll feel a little bit better. If I feel a little bit better, it'll be good enough to play. So just tape it and go out there and have fun with my teammates."
Gonzalez grounded out to end the seventh and twisted his ankle. He went down to the ground and was helped off the field.
Pinch-hitter stayed in the game in left field, and moved from left to right field to replace Gonzalez.
Gonzalez has faced minor ankle injuries throughout his career. In 2013, he exited a June 7 game early with an ankle and knee injury but didn't miss any game action and hit two triples the next game.
"We were making jokes about it because it seems like every year I sprain my ankles," Gonzalez said. "I'm used to it. The good thing is it's nothing bad, so we should just be able to tape it and continue to play every day."
