Colorado Rockies recall outfielder Mike Tauchman from Triple-A Albuquerque

The Colorado Rockies announced Tuesday that they have recalled outfielder Mike Tauchman from Triple-A Albuquerque and have optioned infielder Daniel Castro to Triple-A.

The Colorado Rockies announced Tuesday that they have recalled outfielder Mike Tauchman from Triple-A Albuquerque and have optioned infielder Daniel Castro to Triple-A. 
 
•  Tauchman, 27, will be making his second stint on the Rockies' active roster after being optioned to Triple-A on April 22 … made his first career Opening Day roster and went 1-for-23 with two runs, three walks, 11 strikeouts and a stolen base across 15 games, five starts (three in center field, two in left field) over his first stint with Colorado … has batted .385 (60-for-156) with 37 runs, 12 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 35 RBI, 15 walks, 23 strikeouts and seven stolen bases across 39 games with the Isotopes … was honored as the Player of the Week (May 14-20) for batting .417 (10-for-24) while leading the circuit with eight runs scored, 27 total bases, five home runs and a 1.125 slugging percentage in six games … was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Month for May, leading the PCL with 44 hits, 31 runs scored and 81 total bases … finished the month second in the league with a .379 batting average, 19 total bases, .698 slugging percentage, 1.125 OPS and was tied for second with 24 RBI … the Palatine, Ill., native made his Major League debut on June 27, 2017 at San Francisco and has batted .140 (7-for-50) with four runs, one triple, two RBI, eight walks, 21 strikeouts and two stolen bases across 46 games across parts of two seasons with the Rockies.
•  Castro, 25, was on his first stint on the Rockies' active roster … went 8-for-46 (.174) with two runs, one home run, one double, six RBI and seven strikeouts across 18 games, 13 starts (12 at second base, one at shortstop) since the recall … originally signed by Colorado as a Minor League free agent on Nov. 21, 2016, he last appeared in the Major Leagues in 2016 with Atlanta, where he played 47 games and batted .200 (26-for-130) with eight runs scored, one double, seven RBI, one stolen base, seven walks and 24 strikeouts … the Guaymas, Mexico native made his Major League debut on June 17, 2015 vs. Boston Red Sox and has batted . 210 (57-for-272) with 24 runs, four doubles, one triple, three home runs, 18 RBI, 11 walks, 46 strikeouts and one stolen base over 98 games with the Braves and Rockies. 
 
The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
