Rockies reinstate right-handed pitcher Bryan Shaw from 10-day disabled list

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Bryan Shaw from the 10-day disabled list (right calf strain) and have optioned left-handed pitcher Jerry Vasto to Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Bryan Shaw from the 10-day disabled list (right calf strain) and have optioned left-handed pitcher Jerry Vasto to Triple-A Albuquerque.
 
•  Shaw, 30, made his first career stint on the disabled list after being placed on the DL June 24 with a right calf strain … made two rehab appearances with Albuquerque and allowed two runs on three hits with two walks and one strikeout across two innings of work … has gone 3-5 with a 7.57 ERA (35.2 IP, 30 ER), 20 walks and 34 strikeouts in 41 appearances with Colorado this season … has allowed a career-high tying eight home runs … since 2012, leads the Major Leagues with 483 appearances … in 516 career relief appearances with Arizona (2011-12), Cleveland (2013-17) and Colorado (2018), has gone 26-33 with 11 saves, a 3.45 ERA (482.0 IP, 185 ER), 171 walks and 432 strikeouts.  
 
Vasto, 26, made his second appearance on the Rockies' active roster this season after being recalled July 7 … made his Major League debut on June 10 vs. Arizona after being recalled earlier that day, allowed three runs on three hits with one walk and one strikeout in 0.2 innings pitched … in 26 relief appearances with the Isotopes, has gone 2-0 with a 2.36 ERA (26.2 IP, 7 ER), nine walks and 33 strikeouts … was originally drafted by the Rockies in the 24th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of Felician College.  
 
The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
