Rockies to celebrate Hispanic leaders on Sept. 22

PHOENIX -- In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Rockies will honor several individuals on Sept. 22 with a pregame on-field ceremony that will crown a winner of the Colorado Rockies Adult Leadership Award and the youth winners of the Youth Artistic Contest.

This season marks the eleventh that the Rockies have honored leaders of all ages in the community in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The three finalists for the adult award, Timi Aguilar, Laura Sonderup and Patricia Barela-Rivera, will be recognized for the positive work they have done in the Hispanic community before the overall winner is announced.

An adjoining ceremony will honor the winners of the youth contest with this year's topic of "Heroes," using baseball legend Roberto Clemente as an inspirational example.
