Rockies waiting to see extent of De La Rosa's injury

TORONTO -- The Rockies are crossing their fingers, hoping that left-hander Jorge De La Rosa's bruised left thumb heals in time for him to make his next scheduled start, which is next Sunday against the Nationals.

De La Rosa suffered the injury in the fourth inning Monday night, but held the Jays scoreless on one hit in seven innings. Matt Belisle took the loss in the 2-0 decision.

It's not the first such issue for De La Rosa this season. His previous two starts were affected by a cut on his middle finger. He lasted just five innings in those games and gave up 11 hits in one of them.

"We'll see, but hopefully with five days, he'll be fine," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said.
