Tulowitzki sits with sore left side

MIAMI -- Rockies manager Walt Weiss said before Sunday's game against the Marlins that Troy Tulowitzki was being given the day off after experiencing soreness in his left side late in Saturday night's 3-0 loss to Miami.

"He's OK. He's a little sore," Weiss said of the Rockies' shortstop. "He felt something in his side last night. He talked me into letting him hit that last time up. I was planning on pinch-hitting for him there. He's a little sore today, so we're going to keep him down today. I wouldn't say it's an oblique, but it's in that area."

Weiss also said he does not think catcher Yorvit Torrealba will be activated when he's eligible to come off the 7-day concussion DL on Monday.

"I'm not sure if he's quite ready to be active yet," Weiss said. "I don't think it will be much longer, but I'm not expecting him to be active tomorrow."

Weiss also said that he anticipates that pitcher Tyler Chatwood will have his first rehab assignment this week at Colorado Springs.
