Here’s a look at Thursday’s top performers in the Arizona Fall League from each team’s Top 30 Prospects list.

Cardinals: Tink Hence, RHP (No. 6), Salt River
St. Louis monitored Hence’s workload closely after drafting the right-hander 63rd overall in the 2020 Draft out of the Arkansas prep ranks. He then broke out in 2022, pitching to a 1.38 with 81 strikeouts in 52 1/3 innings in the Florida State League as a 19-year-old. He breezed through his AFL debut Thursday, logging a 1-2-3 fifth inning. Hence is one of three Cardinals Top 100 prospects fortifying Salt River's roster, alongside No. 6 Jordan Walker and No. 51 Masyn Winn. Nationals: Drew Millas, C (No. 30), Peoria
This is the second consecutive tour in the AFL for Millas, who arrived in the Nationals' system via trade at the 2021 Trade Deadline. He's making the most of it. After going hitless in his debut, Millas enjoyed a three-hit, 4 RBI day in his second game, which he ended with a walk-off single for the Javelinas. Included was a double and a two-run homer, the backstop's first of the fall league. At 4-0, Peoria is the lone undefeated team in the developmental circuit. More »

Padres: Jackson Merrill, SS (No. 1), Peoria
Merrill is the top prospect left in San Diego's system post-Juan Soto trade, and he's showing why early in the AFL. Merrill's six hits are tied for the Peoria team lead through four games; he collected three and scored a run in the Javelina's thrilling late-inning Thursday win.

Pirates: Nick Gonzales, 2B (No. 5), Surprise
Gonzales, an Arizona native, has always raked. He seems comfortable at the plate in his home state so far this fall. Gonzales was a catalyst of the Saguaros' win Thursday, singling, doubling and reaching base all four times. Gonzales also scored once and walked twice. Through three games, he's 5-for-11 with four RBIs.

Red Sox: Nick Yorke, 2B (No. 4), Scottsdale
Boston is looking for a strong showing from Yorke after his production slipped with a promotion to High-A this year. Games like Thursday's are a good sign. Yorke was a catalyst of the Scorpions' 5-2 win over the Solar Sox, reaching base three times and scoring three runs out of the leadoff spot. His two hits were both two-baggers, Yorke connecting for his first double in the first and coming around to score on Wiyler Abreu's two-run single. Royals: Tyler Gentry, OF (No. 8), Surprise
The 23-year-old Gentry was healthy for the first time as a pro this season and had a great year, hitting .326/.422/.542 with 21 home runs across two levels and reaching Double-A. He's known for his solid across-the-board tools, but his power stole the show Thursday. Gentry homered twice and drove in three runs, pulling a two-run homer in the third and adding a solo shot to center in the seventh of the Saguaros' runaway victory.
