Royals alumni partner with Royals Charities to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City

Former players & Sluggerrr to serve lunch at Ronald McDonald House on Thursday


KANSAS CITY, MO  – Royals Charities, the charitable arm of the Kansas City Royals, is partnering with several Royals Alumni members to participate in the Ronald McDonald House Charities “Cooks for Kids” program on Thursday, December 6.

Members of the Royals Alumni will be joined by Sluggerrr to serve lunch to children seeking treatment at the Ronald McDonald House along with their families.  The event will take place at the Ronald McDonald House located at 2501 Cherry St. in Kansas City, Mo., from approximately 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Former Royals scheduled to participate include Jaime Bluma, Dennis Leonard, Mike Macfarlane, Brian McRae, Jeff Montgomery, Rod Myers, Greg Pryor, Shawn Sedlacek and Kevin Seitzer.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City aims to reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families by providing a “home away from home” while the children receive medical care in Kansas City-area hospitals.  On any given night, the organization serves 67 families.  In addition, Ronald McDonald House provides lodging to nearly 6,000 families and supports over 54,000 visits from family and friends of in-patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital each year.
