Fans Can Take Home a Piece of the Game with Game-Used Merchandise, Autographed Items

KANSAS CITY, MO (April 4, 2013) - The Kansas City Royals have announced the opening of the Royals Authentics store for 2013.  The new store, located on the third base side of the Kia Diamond Club on the Plaza/Field Level of Kauffman Stadium, will offer fans the opportunity to purchase exclusive one-of-a-kind memorabilia during a visit to the ballpark.

Royals Authentics will feature a wide selection of Major League Baseball authenticated items, including game-used bats, baseballs, bases, jerseys, batting gloves and more!  In addition, the store will carry collectibles autographed by current and past Royals players.  All autographs will also be authenticated by MLB.  Kauffman Stadium chairs and other unique items will also be available for purchase.  A portion of all proceeds will benefit Royals Charities to support children, education, youth baseball and military efforts in and around the Kansas City area.

Fans may visit the Royals Authentics store when gates are open to Kauffman Stadium or purchase items anytime by emailing  Plans are in the works to develop a Royals Authentics website that will launch during the 2013 season and allow fans to order items online.

Through the Royals Authentics store, fans will be able to commemorate special occasions or visits to Kauffman Stadium by pre-ordering baseballs and bases that will be used during a specific game.  Price and availability of memorabilia will vary depending on game and item significance.  In addition, fans will have the option of purchasing items already prepared in display cases or can choose unframed items.  Display cases will also be available for purchase.

The MLB Authentication Program is the most comprehensive league-wide memorabilia authentication initiative in professional sports.  Since its launch in 2001, it has become the industry standard for autographed and game-used sports memorabilia authentication.  Designed to distinguish officially authenticated MLB memorabilia from other items on the market, the program offers an objective third-party authentication system that guarantees genuine memorabilia for all MLB fans.
