The Storm Chasers dropped to 1-1 against Las Vegas. Josh Satin gave the 51s a 3-1 lead with a three-run shot in the third. Omaha's Will Smith permitted four runs on six hits and two walks over six innings. Smith entered the game having allowed just two earned runs over his previous four Triple-A starts (24.0 IP). Adam Moore and Willy Taveras recorded solo homers for the Storm Chasers.

Northwest Arkansas lost game one at Tulsa, the club's sixth straight defeat overall. The Drillers built a 5-0 lead, including four runs (three earned) in five innings against Noel Arguelles. Angel Franco posted two hits while Matt Fields and Yem Prades each scored a run.

Starter John Lamb settled down, keeping the Pelicans scoreless over the next five innings. He allowed six runs on seven hits and no walks while fanning eight over six-plus innings. Alex Hudak was 2-for-3, boosting his average to .303 (10-for-33).

Lexington is back at .500 after an opening loss in West Virginia. The Legends scored first as Terrance Gore walked, stole second, moved to third on a sac bunt and scored on a grounder. 2012 third-rounder Colin Rodgers (4.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER) limited West Virginia to a solo homer in the first. He has a 2.25 ERA on the year (9 ER in 36.0 IP).
