Omaha fell behind early at Nashville, losing a second straight to the Sounds. Marks walked the bases loaded in the second, which led to a four-run inning. He allowed five runs on four hits and five walks over five frames. Christian Colon posted three hits and two RBIs. Willy Taveras added three hits and a run. The Storm Chasers left 15 runners on base.

NW Arkansas Naturals (20-43)

Northwest Arkansas dropped the opener vs. Springfield. The Cardinals scored five runs (two earned) in five innings against Adam. Angel Franco recorded two hits and three RBIs, including a two-run triple in the eighth. Brett Eibner added two singles and a run. A doubleheader is scheduled for Thursday, with the first seven-inning game to start at 5:00 p.m. local time.

Kyle Zimmer earned his first win in advanced Class A as Wilmington finished 1-2 at Salem. The 2012 first-round pick scattered two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings. Parker Morin was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and a run. Geulin Beltre and Lane Adams added three hits apiece. Cheslor Cuthbert finished with a double, two RBIs and three runs. He was promoted to Northwest Arkansas on Thursday morning.

Lexington fell short in the rubber game vs. Rome. Starter Alec Mills (4 1/3 innings, two hits, two earned runs, one walk, five strikeouts) retired 12 of the first 13 batters, taking a shutout into the fifth. Humberto Arteaga and Fred Ford each drove in a run for Lexington. The Legends are at Asheville (Rockies) tonight.
