Royals Minor League Report: Aug. 12

Omaha Storm Chasers (61-62)

Omaha 5, Fresno 4 (11 innings)
WP: Donnie Joseph (4-3)
HR: Brian Fletcher 2 (4, 5 with Omaha, 17 overall)

Pedro Ciriaco's 11th-inning single scored Ben Broussard, lifting Omaha to an opening win over Fresno. Broussard led the Chasers with four hits. Fletcher slugged solo homers in the fourth and sixth, finishing 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Danny Duffy tossed a 1-2-3 first with two strikeouts. Brian Sanches pitched six innings, yielding four runs in the fourth. Francisley Bueno worked three scoreless frames and Joseph (one inning) picked up the win.

NW Arkansas Naturals (24-26 2nd half, 49-71 overall)

All eight Texas League squads were off on Monday. The Naturals host Corpus Christi (Astros) Tuesday night.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (21-28 2nd half, 54-65 overall)

Wilmington 7, Salem 3
WP: Angel Baez (1-0 with Wilmington, 2-0 overall)
HR: Justin Trapp (8), Dennis Raben (8)

Wilmington evened a three-game set at one game apiece. The Blue Rocks scored four in the third, building a 4-1 lead. Trapp hit a solo homer in the seventh and Raben followed with a two-run shot. Baez won in his first start with Wilmington since April 22, striking out seven while scattering two runs, four hits and three walks over five innings. Baez missed over three months due to a fractured right hand.

Lexington Legends (30-20 2nd half, 63-55 overall)

Monday was an off-day in the Sally League. The Legends are at Charleston (Yankees) Tuesday night. This is the only series between the two Southern Division clubs.

Idaho Falls Chukars (8-4 2nd half, 27-23 overall)

The Chukars were off on Monday after completing a four-game sweep at Grand Junction. They host Billings (Reds) on Tuesday night.

Burlington Royals (22-28)

Burlington's opener at Pulaski was postponed due to rain. A doubleheader is scheduled for Tuesday night, with the first contest starting at 6 p.m. ET.

Surprise Royals (6-9 2nd half, 16-27 overall)

Arizona Giants 8, Surprise 0
LP: Chase Darhower (0-2)

The Royals were held to two hits at Scottsdale Stadium. Jecksson Flores singled in the first and Samir Duenez recorded an infield safety in the fourth. Converted catcher Kenny Swab retired all six batters over the final two innings, striking out two.
