Omaha remains tied with Memphis in the division race after an opening win vs. Round Rock. Clayton Mortensen won his Omaha debut, working around three runs, six hits and three walks over 6.0 innings. He was acquired from the Red Sox on Tuesday. Paulo Orlando had a big night out of the nine spot in the order, posting three singles, three RBI and a run. Pedro Ciriaco recorded two hits, a walk and three runs.

NW Arkansas Naturals (34-33 2nd half, 59-78 overall)

Northwest Arkansas loaded the bases in the 12th against former KC farmhand Cole White before a 5-2-3 double play ended the game and an opportunity for a four-game sweep. Orlando Calixte, Brett Eibner and Rey Navarro had three hits apiece for the Naturals. Starter Andy Ferguson (6.0 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO) allowed all three of his runs on a homer in the second.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (28-39 2nd half, 61-76 overall)

The Blue Rocks were off on Friday. They begin the season's final series tonight vs. Winston-Salem (White Sox).

Lexington Legends (35-32 2nd half, 68-67 overall)

West Virginia 10, Lexington 2

Lexington lost the series opener as West Virginia built an 8-0 lead. Greg Billo fanned six while being charged with four runs (two earned), six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. Billo produced a 1.35 ERA in 40.0 innings for the Legends (6 ER). Chad Johnson recorded two hits and is 4-for-7 since joining Lexington. 2013 first-round pick Hunter Dozier (2-for-5, RBI) upped his average to .327 with the Legends (18-for-55).

Idaho Falls Chukars (17-12 2nd half, 36-31 overall)

The Chukars had a four-game winning streak snapped as they dropped to 2-1 vs. Grand Junction. Tim Melville made a rehab start, fanning two while working around a walk in the first. Patrick Conroy allowed four runs (two earned) over 6.0 innings. Humberto Arteaga led Idaho Falls with three hits. Michael Antonio added two hits and is batting .417 (5-for-12) during his rehab stint.

Burlington Royals (29-38)

Burlington dropped the season finale as the Cards scored seven runs over the first two innings. Bobby Brown put Burlington on the board with a homer in the first. Nic Cuckovich added a single, a walk and two runs.
