Omaha earned a 2-2 split with the Redbirds. Jake Odorizzi moved to 5-0 with Omaha as he scattered three runs on 10 hits and two walks over 6.0 innings. Blaine Hardy pitched 3.0 scoreless innings for the save. Tony Abreu continued his hot hitting, going 3-for-4 with 2 RBI. He is batting .395 (15-for-38) with 11 RBI over his last 10 games. Clint Robinson recorded two hits, a walk, an RBI and three runs.

Chris Dwyer pitched 7.0 dominant innings as the Naturals won a pitchers' duel at home. Dwyer fanned seven while yielding just two hits. Yem Prades led off the sixth with a single. He went on to score the game's lone run on a wild pitch. John Whittleman also recorded a single for the Naturals.

Wilmington at Carolina - Postponed due to rain

Wilmington's game at Carolina was postponed due to rain. The clubs are scheduled to play a pair of seven-inning games on Saturday, with the first to begin at 5 p.m. local time. Jason Adam is the probable starter for the first game, with Tyler Sample slated for the nightcap.

Mark Threlkeld's two-out, two-run single lifted Burlington to a walk-off win in the home opener. Chris Elder and Patrick Leonard hit solo homers for the B-Royals. Freddy Rodriguez earned the win after tossing 2.0 innings of scoreless relief.

The Surprise Royals notched their first win of 2012 in a high-scoring contest at Peoria. Every Royals starter recorded at least one hit and one run. Jerrell Allen, Alfredo Patino and Ramon Torres had three RBI apiece. Diego Goris and Alexis Rivera finished with four hits each.
