Royals request release waivers on outfielder Carlos Peguero

The Kansas City Royals announced today that the club has requested release waivers on outfielder Carlos Peguero.
 
Peguero, 27, spent a majority of last season at Triple-A Omaha, where he hit .266 with 30 homers and 76 RBI for the Storm Chasers. He was recalled by Kansas City on September 1 and played in four games at the Major League level, where he went 2-for-9 with a double and an RBI.

The Royals Major League roster now sits at 39 players.
