Storm Chasers miss chance for title sweep

Salt Lake staves off elimination with Game 3 victory in PCL finals

The Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers lost for the first time in the best-of-five Pacific Coast League Championship Series on Friday night, dropping a 9-0 decision to host Salt Lake in Game 3.

The Storm Chasers had won the first two games, but couldn't complete the sweep. Game 4 is set for Saturday at 7:35 p.m. CT.

Omaha's pitching staff gave up 17 hits, with starter Justin Marks exiting in the fifth inning after allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits.

Second baseman Christian Colon, the Royals' No. 17 prospect, according to MLB.com, singled and designated hitter Brian Fletcher doubled for the only Omaha hits.

Salt Lake starter Jarrett Grube struck out 11 in his first career shutout.
