Coordinator of Latin American Scouting
Orlando Estevez begins his 16th season with the Royals and seventh as Coordinator of Latin American scouting. The 2011 Art Stewart Scout of the Year began his professional baseball career with the California Angels as a part-time scout and coach for the club's rookie league affiliate in Mesa, Ariz., from 1987-90. He then worked as an area scout for the Houston Astros, covering South Florida from 1990-96.
Estevez graduated from Pace High School in Opalocka, Fla., and attended Miami-Dade Community College. While at Miami-Dade, he served as an assistant coach and recruiter.
He and his wife, Ivonne, reside in Pembroke Pines, Fla., with their four children: Daniel, Lauren, and twins, David and Ryan.
