1987: The Blue Jays held a 3 1/2-game lead in the AL East with 7 to play. When they finished their series in Detroit, the Tigers were crowned AL East champions, and a rivalry was born

Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros

10/23/23: The 2023 Lone Star ALCS series was baseball at its best, with the Rangers advancing to the World Series (and winning!) in an electric seven-game series

10/22/00: To add to the Subway Series rivalry, the Mets and Yanks faced each other in the World Series. Then, a season-long storyline came to a head in a certain at-bat between two star players

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Philadelphia Phillies

06/08/89: Pirates announcer Jim Rooker noted if the team lost after being up 10-0, he would walk back to Pittsburgh. The Phillies of course came back to win 15-11. and "If you talk the talk, you better walk the walk" never rang so true
