1989: Mr. Angel is drafted

Salmon was known for his offense rather than his defense, but he still made this spectacular grab to rob Brent Gates of a homer.

1993: Unanimous ROY

Salmon won the AL Rookie of the Year Award unanimously, only the fourth player to do so at that point.

2000: Salmon passes Downing

He became the Angels’ all-time homer leader, passing Brian Downing with No. 223, off Roger Clemens.

2002: Postseason greatness

The Halos star hit a clutch two-run homer in the eighth to help the club to a pivotal win over the Yankees in Game 3 of the 2002 ALDS.

2002: Defibrillator

He came up huge again in Game 2 of the World Series, homering twice to lift the Angels to a wild 11-10 win over the Giants.

2002: Salmon lifts the trophy

Mr. Angel was pivotal in leading the club to its first World Series title, going 1-for-2 in Game 7 and batting .346 with two homers and five RBIs overall.

2006: One last blast

Salmon hit his 299th and final career homer -- a club record until Mike Trout surpassed it in 2022.

2015: Mr. Angel enshrined

Salmon was inducted into the Angels Hall of Fame in 2015, along with Mike Witt and Dean Chance.
