2012: Pro journey begins

Hailing from Santiago in the Dominican Republic, Adames signed at age 16 with the Tigers in 2012 and made his pro debut the following year in the Dominican Summer League

Heading to the Sunshine State

On July 31, 2014, the Tigers traded Adames to Tampa Bay in a three-team blockbuster with the Rays and Mariners that landed David Price in Detroit

2016-17: Moving on up

Adames was chosen for the Futures Game and MLB’s Rookie Development Program as he shot up rankings, landing at No. 21 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 heading into 2017

Welcome to the big leagues -- with a bang. In his second career at-bat, Adames connected against Red Sox ace Chris Sale for a solo homer at Tropicana Field

Aug. 7, 2018: Walk-off Willy!

Adames’ first career walk-off home run was a no-doubter. It sailed a Statcast-projected 434 feet to give the Rays a win over the Orioles

Playing in the postseason for the 1st time, Adames broke out in Game 3 of the 2019 ALDS vs. the Astros with 3 hits, including a homer, in a Rays win

He struck out vs. Julio Urías to end the 2020 World Series, but it wasn’t all bad. Adames doubled in a run in Game 3 for his 1st career RBI in a Fall Classic

May 22, 2021: Strong start with Crew

The Brewers traded 2 pitchers to the Rays for Adames on May 21 and he paid off right away, singling in his Crew debut and notching 4 hits, including a go-ahead HR, 5 days later
