2018 Little League Baseball World Series

It was a captivating final weekend at the 2018 Little League World Series in Williampsort as Honolulu Little League (Hi.) captured the championship, thanks to a pair of 3-0 victories in the U.S. and Little League World Series Championship games. The action began on Saturday afternoon as South Seoul (South Korea) and Kawaguchi (Japan) squared off for the International Championship. South Seoul jumped out to two runs in the first inning and held off Kawaguchi, 2-1, to clinch a spot in Sunday's championship game. Later that day, Honolulu blanked Peachtree City (Ga.) to earn the state of Hawaii's first U.S. championship since 2010. On Sunday, Kawaguchi exploded for seven runs in the second inning and beat Peachtree City, 8-2, in the third-place game. In the tournament finale later in the afternoon, Honolulu's Mana Lau Kong tagged the first pitch his team saw for a home run. Hawaii would cash in two more runs on a wild pitch in the third inning and eased to their second 3-0 shutout in as many days, en route to the state of Hawaii's third Little League World Series title, and the first ever for Honolulu.
