2019 Tigers Winter Caravan ready to roll

Tigers Players, Manager, Coaches, Broadcasters and PAWS to visit fans throughout Michigan

DETROIT - The 2019 Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan in partnership with Visit Central Florida and FOX Sports Detroit, is set for Thursday, January 24 and Friday, January 25, and features an exciting lineup of stops throughout the state of Michigan. Group President of Sports and Entertainment, Ilitch Holdings Inc. Chris Granger, Tigers Executive Vice President, Baseball Operations and General Manager Al Avila, Executive Vice President, Business Operations Duane McLean, Vice President, Assistant General Manager David Chadd, Special Assistant to the General Manager Alan Trammell, Manager Ron Gardenhire, coaches, players, broadcasters, and Detroit's favorite mascot PAWS, will take part in a two-day journey across the region, spreading baseball fever to fans of all ages.

Media are encouraged to attend stops along the caravan for photo and b-roll opportunities. Further information on arranged media availabilities with Tigers players, coaches and executives will be announced at a later date.

Season ticket packages for 2019 are on sale now. Plans that include an Opening Day ticket start as low as $15 per game. Tickets for the 24th annual TigerFest on January 26 are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 866-66-TIGER or by visiting tigers.com/tigerfest. Tickets are $30 and half off ($15) for kids 14-and-under. Over 40 current Tigers players and coaches scheduled to appear and all fans attending will receive a free TigerFest tote bag, courtesy of Visit Central Florida.

• Tigers personnel will be the guest speaker at the Beavers Luncheon. The Beavers are the oldest club-within-the-club.
• In celebration of the Beaver's 100th Anniversary, Tigers will present a framed jersey.

Detroit VA Medical Center/ Fisher House 1:15 -1:45 p.m.

• Fisher House has provided a "Home Away from Home" for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA centers.
• Tigers personnel will present a $10,000 donation to assist with bringing Fisher House to Michigan in 2020.
• Additionally, in honor of the Detroit VA Medical Center's 80 years of serving veterans, Tigers personnel will present a framed jersey.

Michigan Veterans Foundation 2:00-2:30 p.m.

• In celebration of their 30th anniversary, the Tigers are presenting the Michigan Veterans Foundation with a framed jersey and a check donation of $5,000. There will be a short Q&A and raffle prize giveaways.

Novi Police Department/Novi Civic Center 3:15-4:30 p.m.

• Tigers Caravan visits the city of Novi to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Tigers players will dine and meet with Novi Police prior to a community rally at the Civic Center.
• Tigers players will participate in a Q&A, present a framed jersey to the city of Novi, and interact with fans for raffle prize giveaways.


Friday, January 25

National Coney Island 10:00-10:40 a.m.

• Tigers players to act as celebrity servers at National Coney Island.

Selfridge Air National Guard 10:45 a.m.-12:10 p.m.

• Tigers players and coaches will participate in an energetic rally in the joint dining hall and will welcome home members of the 107th Fighter Squadron as they return from Exercise Emerald Warrior.
• Players will participate in a private simulation exercise prior to the rally.

Michigan Humane Society 11:10-11:50 a.m.

• The Michigan Humane Society will offer free adoptions throughout the day
• Tigers players will help guests select their new favorite pet.

Arab-American National Museum 11:20 a.m.-12:20 p.m.

• The Arab-American National Museum and Detroit Tigers will announce their 2019 ticket package partnership.
• Upon arrival, Tigers personnel will meet and greet with VIP guests from the Arab-American National Museum, including dignitaries and political leaders from the local community.
• Tigers personnel will present a Mikie Mahtook game worn jersey from Opening Day in 2018 to add to the exhibit collection.

• Tigers personnel will dine with DTE Executives followed by an exciting rally with DTE employees; including a Q&A segment and raffle giveaways.

Children's Hospital of Michigan 2:30-3:30 p.m.

• Tigers players will visit children (outpatients) in the lobby of Children's Hospital of Michigan and give gifts to 300 inpatients as they visit select patient rooms.

• Tigers players will have a meet and greet reception with Fox Sports Detroit sponsors and clients.

• Tigers personnel will tour the Flint assembly plant and take a group photo with plant employees.
