Tigers send Gose down with Maybin coming back

BALTIMORE -- The Tigers sent outfielder Anthony Gose to Triple-A Toledo after Sunday's 6-5 win over the Orioles, making room for Cameron Maybin, who will be activated from the 15-day disabled list prior to Monday's game against the Twins.
Maybin has been sidelined since March 25 with a left wrist fracture. On a rehab assignment with Toledo, the center fielder batted .186 (11-of-59) in 16 games.
Gose entered Sunday's win in the eighth inning as a defensive replacement, but did not get an at-bat. He batted .209 with two home runs and seven RBIs in 30 games for Detroit.
The Tigers opted to send Gose down instead of recently recalled Steven Moya. Prior to Sunday's game, when asked about Moya's future, manager Brad Ausmus said "there will be a conversation." The outfielder promptly went 3-for-4 with an RBI, finishing a homer shy of the cycle against the Orioles. He is batting .400 since being called up Thursday.
