A look at some notable facts and figures from the Detroit Tigers' 8-6 win over the Oakland Athletics in Game 4 of the American League Division Series at Comerica Park on Tuesday.
• Austin Jackson recorded the first hit of the ALDS and didn't collect another hit before his go-ahead, broken-bat RBI single in the seventh. During that period, he went 0-for-13 with 10 strikeouts.
•Before Jhonny Peralta's home run in the fifth, Detroit had scored in just one of its last 31 innings. The home run was the Tigers' first of the series and first in their past eight games dating back to the regular season.
• Victor Martinez became the third Tigers player to hit game-tying home run in the seventh inning or later of a postseason game. The others: Hank Greenberg and Brandon Inge.
• Sean Doolittle hadn't surrendered a homer since Aug. 26 before Martinez took him yard in the seventh.
•The Tigers hit .077 against the A's bullpen in Games 1-3, but were 5-for-11 (.455) versus A's relievers in Game 4.
• Max Scherzer hadn't pitched out of the bullpen since 2011 before coming into the game in the seventh.
• Peralta's home run was the first extra-base hit allowed by Dan Straily in his last four starts.
• Straily was the seventh rookie in A's history to start a postseason game. They've started a rookie in six of last nine postseason games.
• Straily, who led all AL rookies with 124 strikeouts, struck out eight.
• Doug Fister threw 26 pitches in the first and threw 50 by the end of the second, but he held on long enough to toss six quality innings.
• Jackson and Brandon Moss have tied Josh Reddick (2012) for the second-most strikeouts in an ALDS with 10. Bret Boone set the mark with 11 in 2001.
• Miguel Cabrera has reached safely in an Major League record 28 consecutive postseason games.
• The A's have hit 11 home runs at Comerica Park and have homered in all six games at Comerica Park this season.
• Jed Lowrie's first hit of the series was an RBI single in the first. He later hit a two-run home run after entering Game 4 hitless in his previous 18 postseason at-bats.
• Torii Hunter entered the game 7-for-10 against Straily. He went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
• The A's put leadoff men on six times and 11 times in last 18 innings. Before that, they did it once in 15 innings.
• Coco Crisp tied an A's postseason record with four hits and is the 11th player in franchise history to achieve the feat.
• In his last two games, Crisp is 7-for-9 with three RBIs, three runs scored, two doubles and one triple. He became the third player in A's postseason history with back-to-back three-hit games.
• Yoenis Cespedes is 13-for-37 (.351) in the ALDS and his nine-game hitting streak is tied for third-longest in A's postseason history . Rickey Henderson leads the franchise with 15 consecutive games.
• Since the 1990 World Series, the A's are 1-11 in potential clinch games. Three times they've had a two-game lead in the ALDS and relinquished it.
