CHICAGO -- Saturday night’s game between the White Sox and Tigers has been postponed due to inclement weather. Chicago’s forecast Saturday called for a high of 39 degrees with up to eight inches of snow in some parts of the Chicago area.

The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Wednesday, July 3, with the makeup game starting at 1:10 p.m. CT and the regularly scheduled contest beginning at 7:10 p.m. Game tickets, parking coupons and Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes from Saturday’s postponed contest will only be honored at the 1:10 p.m. game on July 3.

Fans do not need to exchange any game tickets, parking coupons or Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes to attend the rescheduled game. All mobile tickets will be honored for the July 3 makeup game.

WGN-TV (Game 1), NBC Sports Chicago Plus (Game 2), WGN Radio 720-AM and WRTO-AM 1200/Univision Radio will broadcast the doubleheader. Saturday’s promotional Jose Abreu Silver Slugger bobblehead, presented by Constellation, will be given to the first 20,000 fans entering the ballpark for the 1:10 p.m. game on July 3.

Reynaldo López was scheduled to start Saturday night’s contest, but the White Sox moved him back to start Sunday.

Lucas Giolito, on the 10-day injured list since April 18 with a strained left hamstring, is expected back on this now nine-game homestand. He felt good throwing 35 pitches in a side session Friday and hit his highest velocity on his last pitch, per Giolito.

Abreu also was set to receive his 2018 Silver Slugger Award from Louisville Slugger prior to Saturday night’s game, marking the second Silver Slugger Award of his career; the first was in '14. Abreu is 13-for-27 over his past six games with two homers, four doubles and 14 RBIs, raising his average from .174 to .260 and raising his OPS from .614 to .823. He had four hits and five RBIs during Friday’s 12-11 comeback victory over the Tigers.

“You saw it today. You see what he can do,” White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodón said of Abreu on Friday. “He can do damage. He’s a pure hitter, one of the purest hitters in the game. When he gets hot, he’s real streaky and fun to watch.”

Detroit and the White Sox had last Saturday’s game at Comerica Park cancelled due to rain, with a makeup as part of a day-night doubleheader set for Aug. 6.
