Minnesota Twins Training Academy

Located at the National Sports Center in Blaine, the Twins Training Academy is the ideal location to train during the Minnesota winter months.

Training for two age groups:
  • Junior Training: 11 - 14 years old
  • Senior Training: 15 - 18 years old

SENIOR LEVEL TRAINING (Ages 15-18 years)

Advanced instruction - training will help make you an elite player

PITCHING

  • Fine-tune mechanics
  • Develop advanced strategy and pitches
  • Arm health education & injury screening

INFIELD

  • Advanced mechanics and footwork
  • Increase hands speed and glove work
  • Improve double plays

HITTING

  • Fine-tune mechanics and pitch recognition
  • Develop hitting plan and approach
  • Increase bat speed and power

CATCHING

  • Improve receiving skills and transfer speed
  • Improve mechanics and footwork
  • Improve blocking skills
JUNIOR LEVEL TRAINING (Ages 11-14 years)

PITCHING

  • Improve arm strength, control & confidence

INFIELD

  • Proper fielding stance and approach
  • Proper mechanics and footwork
  • Throw quickly and accurately

HITTING

  • Improve hand-eye coordination & bat speed
  • Necessary repetitions to improve

CATCHING

  • Proper set up
  • Proper throwing technique
  • Proper mechanics, footwork, and blocking

Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists

Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists are the orthopedic physicians for the Twins. SAOS provide unsurpassed care and their strong research and education team assures that they always remain at the leading edge of medical practices and technology. They have committed to working with young athletes in an effort to educate them in injury prevention. Specializing in surgical and non-operative orthopedics, SAOS has specialty-trained physicians at locations in Minneapolis, Edina, Plymouth, Blaine, and St. Cloud.

National Sports Center

The National Sports Center is the world's largest amateur sports and meeting facility. The NSC campus operates over 100 unique programs and events in a variety of sports as well as hosting numerous national and international competitions annually that in total draws over 4 million visitors a year. The NSC is a priceless, innovative and unique state asset.
