Twins announce baseball ops staff promotions

November 8th, 2019

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins announced the promotions of four key members of their baseball operations department on Friday. Daniel Adler and Jeremy Zoll were both promoted to assistant general manager, while Alex Hassan was elevated to director of player development and Jeremy Raadt was named director of baseball systems.

"Each of these four individuals have excelled since joining the Twins organization, and we are thrilled to expand their duties moving forward," Twins chief baseball officer Derek Falvey said in a statement. "All four were instrumental to our Major League team's ascent to the 2019 American League Central Division title, while also developing one of the game's most heralded farm systems. Their individual, unique and compelling talents and expertise will be invaluable as we build our club into one that perennially competes for championships."

Adler, previously the club's director of baseball operations, will oversee the club's baseball research and development staff while continuing to work in arbitration, roster construction, athletic performance, player acquisition and player development. Adler originally joined the Twins' staff in August 2017, in a move from the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League.

Zoll had been the Twins' director of Minor League operations since October 2017, and he will continue to be responsible for player development and player performance at all levels of the organization and will also be involved in operation of the Major League team. Under Zoll's leadership, the Twins' farm system had been ranked by MLB Pipeline as No. 8 in baseball, including five prospects ranked in the Top 100.

Adler and Zoll join longtime Twins executive Rob Antony at the assistant general manager level. Antony has been assistant general manager since September 2007, and he is responsible for contracts, arbitration and player evaluation.

Hassan had been the assistant director of player development and will assume the leadership role in the player development efforts across the Twins' Minor League affiliates. The 31-year-old Hassan appeared in three games for the Red Sox in 2014 before he moved into player development in '17 and joined the Twins in February 2018. Raadt had been the Twins' manager of baseball systems since he joined in October 2014, and he leads in the incorporation of new technologies while overseeing the club's baseball systems developers.
