Twins recall Jeff Manship

Designate Erik Komatsu for release or assignment

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Jeff Manship from Triple-A Rochester.  In 12 appearances (four starts) for the Red Wings this season, Manship was 4-1, 3.08 ERA (38.0 ip, 13 er), allowing 34 hits with 15 walks and 25 strikeouts.  He is expected to be in uniform for today’s game vs. Detroit and will wear uniform number 49.

To make room for Manship on the 25-man roster, the Twins have designated outfielder Erik Komatsu for release or assignment.  In 15 games with the Twins this season, he batted .219 (7-for-32) with one rbi.
