Twins reinstate Gant from 10-day injured list

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher John Gant from the 10-day Injured List.

Gant, who has missed the club’s last 10 games with a left abdominal strain, has appeared in 37 games (19 starts) between the Twins and St. Louis Cardinals this season, going 5-9 with a 3.76 ERA (103.0 IP, 43 ER), 67 walks and 88 strikeouts. Gant is scheduled to start for the Twins tonight against the Toronto Blue Jays at Target Field.

To make room on the 28-man roster, the Twins have placed right-handed pitcher Joe Ryan on the Family Medical Emergency/Bereavement List. Ryan, 25, has made four starts for the Twins this season, going 2-1 with a 2.45 ERA (22.0 IP, 6 ER), three walks and 25 strikeouts.
