CHICAGO -- One of the White Sox most highly regarded prospects made his stateside professional baseball debut June 5 with the Class A Kannapolis Intimidators.
Luis Robert, Chicago's No. 3 prospect and last year's No. 1 international free agent per MLB Pipeline, has returned to the field after spraining a ligament in his left thumb sliding into second base during Spring Training. Robert has played in 13 games thus far, slashing .289/.360/.400 with three doubles and a triple through Sunday's games.

The Cuban-born outfielder signed with the White Sox as a 19-year-old to much fanfare on May 27, 2017, and his decision ultimately came down to Chicago and the Cardinals. But Robert said when he signed that the lineage of Cuban players to put on White Sox uniform -- from Minnie Minoso to current first baseman Jose Abreu -- helped influence his decision.
Robert signed a contract with a $26 million signing bonus, the second-largest bonus under current signing guidelines, behind only current White Sox second baseman Yoan Moncada, who inked a $31.5 million bonus with the Red Sox in 2015.

Winston-Salem clinches division
The Class A Advanced affiliate clinched the first-half division title in the Carolina League on Thursday, its first since 2012. The Dash are now ensured of a postseason spot once the full Minor League season concludes in September.
Dylan Cease, the White Sox No. 5 prospect, threw a career-high eight innings and gave up only two runs on 106 pitches in the clinching game. He also walked two and struck out four in the effort.
Additionally, No. 10 prospect Micker Adolfo went 2-for-4 in the victory, finishing the first half of the season with a .271/.357/.429 slash line, seven home runs and 36 RBIs.
The Carolina League All-Star Game takes place on Tuesday, and the second half of the season begins on Thursday. Winston-Salem finished 3 1/2 games ahead of the Buies Creek Astros.

Dunning continues to impress
White Sox No. 6 prospect Dane Dunning earned an early promotion this season from Winston-Salem to Double-A Birmingham. So far, he has shown he can handle the better competition.
Dunning pitched possibly his best start of the season last Thursday, going eight shutout innings while giving up four hits, walking none and striking out 10. He needed just 97 pitches to breeze through Chattanooga's lineup.
Since his promotion in late April, Dunning has made 10 starts for the Barons and his 58 1/3 innings are third on the team. Dunning owns a 2.78 ERA with 19 walks and 65 strikeouts. His WHIP is 1.22.

Collins keeps racking up walks
Zack Collins, the White Sox No. 9 prospect, got off to a slow start this season, at least regarding his batting average. But his on-base percentage hasn't faltered all year.
Collins continues earning free passes at an astonishing rate at Double-A: Through Sunday's games, he has walked 59 times in 62 games. He has walked more than he has hit -- Collins has "only" 54 hits, including 10 doubles and nine home runs, this season.
The 23-year-old's .429 on-base percentage leads the Southern League, with only two other players compiling an OBP at or above .400.
