Edging closer and closer to an Opening Day squad, the White Sox made four moves prior to their game against the D-backs on Thursday.
Outfielder Ryan Cordell was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte, while outfielder Luis Robert and right-handers Rob Scahill and Chris Volstad were reassigned to Minor League camp.

Robert, 20, is Chicago's No. 3 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and Cordell is No. 18.

Dubbed the outfield version of Yoan Moncada, Robert is a five-tool athlete who hit .401/.526/.687 as an 18-year-old in Cuba. The right-handed power-hitter with a quick bat joined the White Sox via a $26 million signing bonus on May 27, 2017. Robert may need a little more time in the Minor Leagues to become acclimated to a new culture, as he's spent most of his life playing in Cuba.
"He has a very advanced approach at the plate, he's very physically gifted and it would not surprise me if he wound up moving on the quicker side," said White Sox general manager Rick Hahn of Robert.

Cordell, 25, slashed .284/.349/.506 with 10 home runs and 45 RBIs in 68 games for the Brewers' Triple-A affiliate last season. The speedy outfielder swiped nine bags in 2017, something the White Sox hoped to implement if he broke camp this year. Now, Leury Garcia and Adam Engel will battle it out for a spot in center field.
With the moves, the White Sox have 32 players remaining in big league camp: 18 pitchers, three catchers, seven infielders and four outfielders.
