White Sox agree to terms with Leury García

The Chicago White Sox agreed to terms on a one-year, $1.55-million contract with outfielder Leury García and have declined to tender 2019 contracts to infielder Matt Davidson and outfielder Avisaíl García.

The Chicago White Sox agreed to terms on a one-year, $1.55-million contract with outfielder Leury García and have declined to tender 2019 contracts to infielder Matt Davidson and outfielder Avisaíl García.
 
Leury García, a 27-year-old switch hitter, batted .271 (70-258) with seven doubles, four triples, four home runs, 32 RBI, 23 runs scored and 12 stolen bases over 82 games last season, his sixth with the White Sox. He appeared in 40 games in left field, 26 in center, 16 in right, seven at second base, six at shortstop and one at third.
 
Over the past two seasons, Leury García has combined to hit .271 (151-601) with 22 doubles, six triples, 13 homers, 65 RBI, 64 runs scored and 20 steals in 169 games. He was acquired by the Sox from Texas on August 11, 2013 as the player to be named later from the deal that sent Alex Ríos to the Rangers.
All remaining unsigned players on the White Sox 40-man roster have been tendered contracts for the 2019 season.
