White Sox place Gavin Floyd on 15-Day Disabled List; recall Deunte Heath from Class AAA Charlotte

Prior to today's game vs. Tampa Bay, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Gavin Floyd on the 15-day disabled list with a flexor muscle strain in his right arm and recalled right-hander Deunte Heath from Class AAA Charlotte.

Floyd suffered the injury in the third inning of last night's loss to the Rays. He has gone 0-4 with a 5.18 ERA (14 ER/24.1 IP) and 25 strikeouts in five starts this season.

Heath, 27, has gone 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA (9.0 IP) and eight strikeouts in five relief appearances with Charlotte this season. He also pitched in one game in his first stint with the White Sox from April 12-16.

Heath will wear uniform No. 54.

The White Sox currently have six players on the disabled list.
