White Sox to play Dodgers in Tucson charity game

CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers will play a spring training charity game in Tucson, Ariz., at 1:05 p.m. on Friday, March 23.  The Pima County charity baseball game will be played at the Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium (formerly Tucson Electric Park), and all proceeds from the contest will benefit the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation.

The Kino Sports Complex and Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium served as the spring home for the White Sox from 1998-2008.  The single-game, charity event will bring Major League Baseball back to Tucson for the second consecutive season.  The White Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks participated in last season's Pima County charity baseball game before a crowd of 7,419.

Gates to this year's contest between the White Sox and Dodgers in Tucson will open at 11:00 a.m.

The Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation was established by the Green Family in 2011 in memory of Christina-Taylor.  The Pima County Sports and Tourism Authority, Pima County, the Tucson Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox will donate all proceeds from the game to the foundation, which will benefit children in the local Tucson community.  Christina-Taylor's father, John Green, works as a scout for the Dodgers.

Tickets to the charity game go on sale online Wednesday, February 15 at whitesox.com/spring or tucsonpadres.com and at the Kino Stadium ticket office on Tuesday, March 6.  Tickets range in price from $6-20.
