White Sox trade outfielder Alex Rios and cash considerations to Texas Rangers

The Chicago White Sox have traded outfielder Alex Rios and cash considerations to the Texas Rangers in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Rios, 32, is batting .277 (119-430) with 22 doubles, 12 home runs, 26 stolen bases and 57 runs scored in 109 games this season. He hit .269 (615-2,285) with 74 home runs, 287 RBI and 99 stolen bases in 599 games with the White Sox after being claimed off waivers from Toronto on August 10, 2009.

The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to the second game of today's doubleheader vs. Minnesota.
