A-Rod passes Ott for 11th on all-time runs list

NEW View Full Game Coverage YORK -- Alex Rodriguez scored the 1,860th run of his career on Monday, surpassing Hall of Famer Mel Ott for sole possession of 11th place on baseball's all-time list.

Rodriguez came around to score the Yankees' first run in the fifth inning, as he singled, moved to second base on a wild pitch and was sent home on Russell Martin's ground-rule double to left field.

Primarily an outfielder, Ott played his entire 22-year career with the New York Giants from 1926-1947, compiling a lifetime batting average of .304 and slugging 511 home runs. Rodriguez can now set his sights on Tris Speaker, whose 1,881 runs scored are 10th all time.
