TAMPA, Fla. -- The Yankees had many of their best arms on the mound on Monday, but the Astros still got the win, edging out New York, 1-0, at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
Max Stassi cranked a one-out double off Dellin Betances in the seventh inning that Lane Adams couldn't handle in center field. Andrew Aplin followed that with a double of his own for the game's only run.

Yankees starter Michael Pineda turned in a strong performance, allowing two hits and striking out three over two innings. He was followed by highly touted right-hander Luis Severino, who struck out three in his three-inning outing.
On the other side, Mike Fiers, fighting for a spot in the Astros' starting rotation, continued to make his case. He allowed just two hits and saw his defense turn a tailor-made 6-4-3 double play behind him against Jorge Mateo to end the second. Michael Feliz followed him in relief, throwing three innings of two-hit ball.
Up next for Astros: Right-hander Doug Fister makes his second start of Grapefruit League play when the Astros return home to face the Nationals at 12:05 p.m. CT on Tuesday at Osceola County Stadium (watch on MLB.TV). Fister spent the previous two seasons with the Nationals, going 16-6 in 2014 and 5-7 last year before signing as a free agent with Houston.
