Nix to come off disabled list Tuesday in Los Angeles
NEW YORK -- After spending the past 3 1/2 weeks on the disabled list with a hamstring injury, Jayson Nix is ready to rejoin the Yankees.
On Sunday, the infielder said he spoke with manager Joe Girardi, who told him that he would be activated from the DL for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
Infielder David Adams was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after Sunday's 6-5 win over the Rays.
Nix began running on Tuesday, and he played rehab games in Class A on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He went 1-for-10 in those games with a double and an RBI.
He's batting .236 with two home runs, 20 RBIs and 11 stolen bases with the Yankees this season.
"I never had any kind of setbacks or any kind of days where I didn't feel that good," Nix said. "As soon as I started doing stuff, I felt great."
