Status: Cousins has been shut down from throwing for four to five days, Aaron Boone said on May 17. Cousins began experiencing right pec discomfort after a recent live batting practice session. Imaging did not show any significant concerns. (updated May 17)

Injury: Torn tendons in both elbows

Expected return: Possibly late May/early June
Status: Has continued to run on the field and hit off a high-velocity machine. There is no set date for Stanton to begin a Minor League rehab assignment, Aaron Boone said May 17, though the club has said Stanton's rehab may look different than most because he does not need to play the field. Expected return: Likely 2026
Status: Underwent surgery to repair a fractured left ankle on May 15; the procedure also included repair of ligament damage. Per manager Aaron Boone, it is “probably unlikely” Cabrera will return this season. (updated May 16) More >>

Status: Has been dealing with persistent discomfort in his knee, necessitating multiple cortisone injections, though imaging has shown no structural damage. (updated May 16) More >>

IL date: May 2 (10-day, retroactive to April 30)
Expected return: Possibly June
Status: Has been hitting off a tee and flips while running at approximately 60 percent to 70 percent. Chisholm said he is actually dealing with three separate tears in the oblique, but still hopes to beat the initial timetable given. (updated May 16) More >>

Status: Still on track in his throwing program, as of a May 12 update from Aaron Boone. Targeting a return to the mound in 2-3 weeks. Gil sustained the injury during a Feb. 28 bullpen session in Tampa. (updated May 12) More >>

Status: Had his rehab assignment transferred from the Rookie-level FCL Yankees to Double-A Somerset on May 10. (updated May 10)

Injury: Right elbow ligament tear

Status: Underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery on March 11 in Los Angeles. The procedure, performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, was a complete UCL reconstruction that also included an internal brace. Placed on 60-day injured list March 22. Cole said May 5 he expects to resume playing catch in August and is planning on a 14-month recovery from the date of surgery. (updated May 6) More >>
