With Richie Ashburn and Granny Hamner on base, Eddie Waitkus looks at a called third strike for the first out. Cardinals catcher Joe Garagiola then throws to third, where Ashburn is caught in a rundown. The ball is relayed to Stan Musial at first, who catches Hamner off the base.
