On April 27, 1994, Scott became the third Twins hurler to pitch a nine-inning no-hitter and just the second (Jack Kralick 8/26/62) to throw a scoreless nine-inning game with no hits (Dean Chance no-hit the Indians on 8/25/67 but won 2-1), when he beat Milwaukee 6-0 in Minnesota. He faced 31 batters retiring 15 on ground balls (1 GIDP), five on fly balls, five on strikeouts and one on a lineout, including four walks and one hit batter. He threw 129 pitches, 71 for strikes. It was the second of three no-hitters during the '94 season: Kent Mercker no-hit the Dodgers on April 8 while with Atlanta and Texas' Kenny Rogers tossed a perfect game vs California on July 28. It was the first no-hitter in the 13-year history of the Metrodome and just the second time a pitcher carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning in the Metrodome (Baltimore's Eric Bell went eight innings plus a batter in the 9th on 5/5/87). It was the 11th no-hitter in a domed stadium and just the fourth indoor no-hitter in the AL (two at Seattle Kingdome and one at Toronto Skydome)...Tossed first career no-hitter, 4/27 against the Brewers...American League "Player of the Week" for 4/25-5/1...Second CG of the year came on 5/8 at Texas...Won consecutive games for the first time since 9/13-18/92 (span of 44 starts), 5/8 & 5/14...Recorded career-high 10 strikeouts on 5/14 against the Orioles...Was on the disabled list 5/15-31 with strained right oblique muscles...Pitched 6+ innings in 15 of 23 starts with eight quality starts...Tied for league lead in hit batsmen (9), T3rd in losses, tied for T5th in wild pitches (10), was 8th in hits allowed.
