Buxton (right knee inflammation) fielded fly balls and took batting practice on Tuesday, after which the Twins expected to discuss a rehab assignment.

Lewis (severe right quad strain) has hit on the field and is expected to begin working on changing directions while running before progressing towards baserunning. More >

Casas (torn cartilage, left ribcage) has resumed lifting weights and expects to begin running and throwing progressions in the coming days. More >

Brandon Lowe, Jeffrey Springs, Taylor Walls and Chris Devenski, Rays

Lowe (right oblique strain) saw a spine surgeon he has worked with previously after reporting that he was "still feeling a little bit" of discomfort, on his rehab assignment. The examination confirmed that Lowe is healing and his progression going forward will depend on his level of pain tolerance.

Springs (Tommy John surgery) is scheduled to throw a two-inning live BP session on Wednesday.

Walls (right hip surgery) has begun a Spring Training-type progression at the Rays' complex in Port Charlotte, which is expected to last about two weeks before he progresses to game action.

Devenski (right knee tendinitis) is throwing pain-free bullpen sessions and is expected to progress to throwing live batting practice soon. More >

Nico Hoerner, Adbert Alzolay, Jordan Wicks and Drew Smyly, Cubs

Hoerner was scratched from Tuesday's starting lineup due to left hamstring tightness.

Alzolay was placed on the 15-day IL on Monday due to what the Cubs have initially described as a right forearm strain. Testing confirmed the diagnosis and revealed no structural damage.

Wicks (left forearm strain) and Smyly (right hip impingement) both threw bullpen sessions at Truist Park on Monday. Counsell said the next step for both pitchers would be live batting practice when the team is back in Chicago later this week. More >

Jung Hoo Lee, Patrick Bailey, Jorge Soler and Blake Snell, Giants

Lee was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a dislocated left shoulder. More >

Crawford (right oblique strain) will begin a Minor League rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma when the Rainiers return home on Tuesday and host Salt Lake. More >

Luis Robert Jr. and Yoán Moncada, White Sox

Robert (right hip flexor strain) could get into games with the White Sox Rookie-level Arizona Complex League team by the end of this week, according to an update from the team on Monday. Those contests would be followed by an injury rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte.

Moncada (left adductor strain) has been fielding grounders and hitting right-handed, and he was expected to resume hitting left-handed on Monday, according to manager Pedro Grifol. More >

Steven Matz and Keynan Middleton, Cardinals

Out since May 3 with a lower back strain, Matz felt lingering pain after a mound session at Busch Stadium on Friday and was shut down so that he could receive a second pain-killing injection, manager Oliver Marmol said. Matz received his injection on Monday and will be “no-throw” for another week, Marmol said, meaning the left-hander's return to the rotation will most likely be pushed back to June at the earliest.

Middleton (right forearm flexor strain) will start a Minor League rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on Tuesday, Marmol said. More >

Anderson was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday (retroactive to Saturday) with lower back soreness.

Tylor Megill, Mets

Megill (right shoulder strain) has made four Minor League rehab starts and will be ready to join the rotation by Friday, but the Mets haven't decided if they want to promote him to start, shift him to the bullpen or option him to the Minors. More >

Grayson Rodriguez, Orioles

Rodriguez (right shoulder inflammation) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session at Camden Yards on Sunday. Rodriguez isn't yet sure what will come next, though he remains optimistic he could be ready to return shortly after he is eligible to be reinstated on Wednesday. More >

Eduardo Rodriguez, Alek Thomas and Geraldo Perdomo, D-backs

Rodriguez (left lat strain) has begun a throwing program. He played catch from 75 feet on Monday.

Thomas (left hamstring strain) had been scheduled to come off the IL on May 7, but he felt something in his injured left hamstring after playing in a rehab game for Triple-A Reno on May 5. He received a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to alleviate swelling on Monday.

Perdomo, who underwent surgery on his right meniscus on April 8, has resumed some baseball activities, taking live at-bats and working in the batting cages on Monday. More >

José Urquidy and Chas McCormick, Astros

Urquidy (right forearm strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, allowing three runs in 2 2/3 innings and throwing 46 pitches. His next rehab outing is scheduled for Saturday with Double-A Corpus Christi.

McCormick (right hamstring discomfort) began a rehab assignment with Sugar Land on Sunday. He will continue his rehab Tuesday and Wednesday for Double-A Corpus Christi. More >

Jesse Winker and Josiah Gray, Nationals

Winker (back spasms) was not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of the Nationals' doubleheader against the White Sox on Tuesday, but he could be available off the bench, according to manager Dave Martinez.

Gray (right elbow/forearm flexor strain) threw a bullpen session Tuesday. He is feeling good and wants to ramp things up in his next bullpen, per Martinez. More >

Paul Blackburn, Alex Wood and Ken Waldichuk, Athletics

Blackburn was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday (retroactive to Saturday) with a stress reaction of the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.

After manager Mark Kotsay revealed that Wood has been pitching through a shoulder issue that worsened after his start on Sunday in Seattle, the left-hander was sent back to Oakland for further evaluation by team doctors.

Waldichuk, who visited elbow specialist Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Monday, is now slated to undergo surgery on Wednesday. He will likely be sidelined for the remainder of the season. More >
