Adrian Beltre retired Carlos Beltran on a forceout and the two shared a hug -- as old friends do

This weekend, the Astros and Rangers are squaring off in another showdown between the two Lone Star State clubs, both hungry for AL West supremacy.
Having recently returned from a calf issue that delayed his season debut, Rangers third baseman Adrián Beltré was ready for this Silver Boot battle. And, unsurprisingly, he was also more than willing to add another chapter to his Classic Adrian Beltre Moments repertoire.
His latest opportunity came in the fifth inning of the Rangers' 6-5 loss to the Astros on Saturday night. Retiring Carlos Beltrán to end the inning on a forceout off the bat of Alex Bregman, Beltre saw fit to greet his former teammate in a warm hug as he tagged him out:

Beltre clearly could have just stepped toward the third base bag to make the putout, but he opted instead to get right up close and personal with Beltran for an embrace ... as old friends do, you know.
After the game, Beltran told MLB.com's Sam Butler how it all happened:
"He was trying to tag me and I had nowhere to go, so I just ended up giving him a hug for the great career that he had in baseball...just a fun moment."
That's better than an average cat-and-mouse game, anyway.
