The Rockies topped the Giants on Wednesday night with a 6-5 walk-off victory. Their bats came alive at just the right time, as they got a homer, two singles and a two-run double to come from behind in the ninth inning.

OK, so this mammal-not-wood bat flew around Coors Field during the eighth inning, not the ninth, but it was definitely a harbinger of things to come. In a game that featured five home runs, it probably heard that the "bats were really going off," and decided to swoop down to make sure its nocturnal friends weren't having a party without it.
And it just happened to inspire the Rockies' (baseball) bats in the process.
