Social Media lets us all gain insight into the personal lives of celebrities -- and that includes 87-year-old comedy legend Bob Newhart, a lifelong Cubs fan.
Throughout Chicago's historic run this postseason, all the way through their historic National League pennant win, Newhart has been among the famous folks documenting their excitement on his Twitter account.
After Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Indians in Game 2 of the World Series, the action now shifts back to Wrigley Field for Game 3 on Friday. As you'd imagine, Newhart is looking forward to it:

And in case you weren't aware, Newhart has a long legacy of Cubs fandom -- just listen to the MLB Network Radio interview in the clip atop this post for evidence.
Fun fact: Royals icon George Brett admitted in an email that he was rooting for the Cubs because of Newhart.
He also once stayed on Catalina Island with William Wrigley Jr., marveling at the fact that he hadn't met anybody that owned his or her own island before -- except for Bill, who was a central figure in its construction in 1919.
Here's another great story: backstage at The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson one night, comedy legend John Belushi approached Newhart to tell him that as a child, he had obtained Bob's autograph between innings during a game at Wrigley.
So, given Newhart's cited reputation a tried-and-true Cubs fan, will he actually be in the stands for the game? That remains to be seen, though he did take in some action in Los Angeles during the Division Series ...

See whether Chicago or Cleveland can take control of the Series when it heads back to Wrigley Field for Game 3: Friday, 7:30 p.m. ET air time | 8 ET game time on FOX.
