Salt Bae is the perfect meme to reference after a 97.6-mph throw, says Carlos Gomez

Mets outfielder Carlos Gomez is a gold mine when it comes to entertainment on the baseball diamond. His latest example came in the fifth inning of Wednesday night's Mets-Dodgers game in Los Angeles when Corey Seager tried to turn a double into a triple.

Gomez, who slightly misplayed the ball -- he had a decent chance of catching it before picking up a ricochet off the center-field wall -- uncorked a rocket of a throw to nail Seager at third base for the out. Statcast estimated his throw at 97.6 mph, and that sounds about right:

But it was Gomez's move after the epic throw that sealed his fate as the game's best meme master of the moment. Remember Salt Bae? CarGo definitely does.
