On Tuesday night, Padres righty Dinelson Lamet made just the second start of his Major League career ... in front of his home crowd, against the reigning World Series-champion Cubs. Understandably, he was pretty excited -- so excited, in fact, that after striking out Jon Jay he briefly forgot how many outs were in an inning:

While some rookies might have been mortified, Lamet bounced back just fine. He gave up just one run while striking out eight over five innings, earning his second consecutive win as San Diego topped Chicago, 6-2.
And besides, it's a mistake that puts him in some pretty good company.
